How about a trip to Barcelona and back for 30 francs? Shopping, sun, playa, ...! But deep down, we know it's an aberration. But why? Because taking the plane pollutes enormously. So why raise the price of air travel?

In fact, it's not the travel or the plane that's the problem, it's more the mode of propulsion: the jet engine. To put it simply, an airplane has one or two jet engines that propel the plane by burning kerozen, a petroleum derivative, in a small space.

So, as it burns, this kerozen increases in pressure and turns into gas, pushing the plane along. In fact, it's a bit like burning tires in the forest, only here the energy is directed towards a goal, a direction.

But there are other modes of propulsion that exist or seem possible, such as propeller-driven electric aircraft.

The problem is that it would be a bit slower, and expensive to develop. Right now, there's no incentive for airlines or manufacturers to change. After all, why change a successful business?

That's where raising the price of jet tickets comes in. It encourages the creation of alternatives, while still allowing us to travel into the future without pollution!

So are you for or against raising the price of an aircraft if it's fitted with jet engines?
